Something along the lines of:
Pg. 41, paragraph 11:
Contractor will not be held responsible for any physical or psychological damage that needs to be inflicted on homeowner's pets (or kids) during the duration of project.
Furthermore, if said pets (or kids) continue to annoy after first offensive, contractor has the right to taze at will.
It's always worked for me.

I just started a thread the other day that addressed similar issues. It's under General Discussion "Dealing with HO pets, kids, etc" or something like that.
Summary, no one who responded had a specific clause about pets, but there were a few good responses there.

C- Access to Work Areas
1. If at any time access to work or storage area is not available to
contractor or subcontractors owner agrees to reimburse those for
expenses incurred for travel and lost time at the rate of $55 per man-
hour lost and $.50 per mile per vehicle.
2. Owner agrees that contractor or subcontractors will not attempt to enter
any work or storage area if Owner’s animals which may potentially
cause harm has open access to that area.
E – Pets & Children
1. Children are to be controlled and kept away from work area(s).
2. Dogs and cats to be kept away from work area(s). Owner understands
and agrees that contractor and subcontractors will not be responsible
for any pet leaving the home due to doors, windows, gates or other
openings in the home being left open due to work in progress.
3. Birds are very sensitive to dust. Please keep in room away from work area.

I've found that framing nailers with no guards work well to keep dogs at bay. In a pinch a trim nailer will work as well.
A couple of years ago, we were finishing a basement and the HOs had a dog that barked constantly from day one. We started scraping the bottom of the first floor plywood with any handy tool. You could hear the dog going nuts trying to find out what was making the noise. We got a big laugh but of course still had to listen to the fleabag bark...

Do I have your permission to show this to my attorney? I don't have a clause like this but would like one.
Yes or no-no hard feelings. It's yours.

I appreciate the post HS. I've always got along fine with all the pets on jobs it took a bite to make me think of a potential legal issue. The guy I was working with is still giving me the business maybe because I watched him get bit in the ass by a German Shepard and I laughed about it for months.

Speaking of getting bit
I got bit by a dog on a lead once
I still have a dark mark on my leg 5 months later from the little turdball.
The owner didn't buy.
considering suing for the cost of the job in pain , suffering and scarring.( OK I am an ugly mofo) But I have enough scars without any more.
Waddaya think

Bit on the jobsite-no
Bit just walking down the street-maybe
Depends on the situation and what led up to the bite.

We've got "control" collars for the our mutts...button for noise, button for "shock"
When swmbo isn't home, those lil' bastards get lit up like christmas trees when they misbehave....
Just a thought...

I worked on a bathroom remodel a couple of years ago and the HO had 4 or so dachsunds that would bark and follow you from the front door to the bath that was being renovated... Those little ankle biters got me good a couple of times... I dragged one down the hallway as it was clamped on to my pant leg... man I was glad when that job was over

I have this paragraph in my "Customer todo list". Nothing official in the contract.
"Please let us know which color you want your pets painted, just kidding! Please make arrangements to keep your pets out of the work areas. We love animals, and want to keep them safe from any of the supplies that could be hazardous to their health. We would also like to know their names and any specific instructions regarding them."

Sorry to hear you were bite. I advised all home owners that any dogs or cats need to be moved to a loction that will not cause harm to the pets or any contractors working on their property
