Low Voltage Transformer For Zone Valves.
I am at a loss as to where to find the low voltage transformers for the zone valves in our building... A 92 suite building built in the early 70 or late 60's. We have looked everywhere and can't find them ... Does nayone have an idea of where to begin looking. They are not in the suites or boiler room or storgae rooms...

A real shot in the dark here.....follow the pipes to the valves....follow the wires to the transformer/s.

I put them near the valves because it's easier and less confusing later on. Try what Celtic said. They shouldn't be to far from the valves.

Re: Low Voltage Transformer For Zone Valves.
They shouldn't be too hard to find, but then.... I have seen them mounted to the wall inside the apartment by a wall recp nearest the valve, mounted to the panel in each apartment, or mounted to a light fixture box in the ceiling/attic.
Might have to start at the t-stat and work your way to it. Possibly mounted to a light/junction box in the basement if it has one? If you know an electrician with a signal tracer, that might help. If you can turn the power off to the T-stat you might be able to use a tone generator like the phone company uses to trace wires. Do you know if each apartment is seperate, or does one transformer supply several units?
