Losing Somebody You Love So Dearlry

I wanted to share my weekend with you .

This weekend was good and bad . Saturday night we went to my wifes christmas party had alot of fun and ignored some calls on the cell phone . Well after a longs night sleep and groggy . I stumble from the bed to check my voice mail after turning it off . TALK ABOUT SOME GUILT HERE . I had a voice mail from someone in Idaho that doesnt ever call me . Well this is the way it go's Hello Adam this is ___edited___ my best friends brother inlaw . Well after 2 times listining to it . I fell to my knees on the bed . It didnt state much just to call back . I got my wits about me and returned the call . This was the most life changing thing I have ever heard . I knew the caller and he said this . I knew you and Jim where very close , Then he proceeded with the following . Jim was killed yesterday , My whole world crashed down upon me . I have sat here all weekend and balled like a baby curled up in a ball . I have never known this feeling of loss . Also on the other hand I cant burry him I cant say goodbye . I am dealing with a bunch of guilt and anger right now . I missed 3 calls from him 40 mins prior to his death . The story of his death is below . I just thought Id share with you my thoughts . My wifes mother said talking about it will help . I am hurting so bad right now . I feel like someone had just ripped all my soul out . I also made a promise to this friend to move back home by july because he missed me so much and our fishing trips . I made myself a promise last night that I assure my ticket at the gate to reunite with him is heaven someday .
Story as follows :
The man who died Saturday when his pickup truck plunged nearly 250 feet down an embankment near Lucky Peak Reservoir Saturday has been identified as a 35-year-old Boise man.

James D. Hally was driving a pickup along Arrowrock Road when he lost control on the ice around 12:15 p.m., according to the Boise County Sheriff's Office.

The truck went down an embankment. It appeared Hally wore no seat belt and was thrown from his truck, the sheriff's office reported.

"He was a great guy, and we will miss him," Hally's friend Adam Meider, who lives in Texas, wrote to the Statesman in an e-mail. "We love you forever, buddy."

I will miss you buddy and I will see you again soon . We love you amigo !

Adam, I know what you are going through. Dad was killed on this day in 1973.

The pain will ebb with time but the memories will stay forever. I still have dreams of Dad, I can see and hear him as clearly as if he was really still here. I awaken in a particularly good mood the following morning.

Very sorry to hear of your loss. I was subjected to this same thing at about the age of 13 when a friend of mine was killed point blank with a .357 to the head. We were neighbors, he was a few years older than me, and used to pass beers to me through the basement wall in our townhomes. His mother saw to it that I got his punching bag that I always admired and loved to hit on. There is no consolation that will replace your loss. Only time will heal the wounds. My deepest regards to you and his family...

As 6string and teetor have posted time will ease the pain. I lost a close friend to a motorcycle accident on Christmas day last yr. I think of him all the time and remember all the crazy things we did, he will never die as your friend wont either.

My condolence

Deepest condolences, Adam, - - I lost my best friend 20 years ago, (somewhat) similar situation, he asked me to come over, - - but I just couldn't make it that night, - - the following day he was no longer with us, - - still questioning myself on that one.

He's always missed, - - he's never forgotten. Seems like I just talked to him yesterday . . .

Prayers for all . . .

Re: Losing Somebody You Love So Dearlry

Adam,
I feel your pain. I lost my best friend to a car accident 3 years ago. At the time we were both 20. Lived 20 feet away from each other for 10 years, school, party, the whole thing, the dude was like my brother. I only got to see him so seldom before his death from working so much. When I got the call at 6 in the morning it was the worst thing ever. I had lost such a close friend. It will be extremely hard at first, but as everyone said time heals. I would go to his grave and just cry, but talking about it and letting it out really helps. Hope all is well.

I also got a memorial tattoo on my forearm too that really seemed to help. We were tattoo buddies, I'd get one and he'd get one.

I feel for ya.

Lost my mother on 9/11/01
She was not in New York, it just so happened on the same day.

I found it helped a bit when I gave my daughter the same middle name as her.
It's a great tribute.

Ditto - I'm relatively new to the forum but I feel like you guys are becoming buddies anyway. I have a good buddy back east that I grew up with and can imagine how I'd feel. I lost my Dad a few years ago in a sudden manner, and know it can destroy your life. But it will get better and you will go on. Try to honor your friend as you live your life. I guess all the advice is meaningless to you right now, but my best wishes to you and his family.

Adam: So sorry to hear of your loss. He was so young. I lost my best friend and next door neighbor in '79,electrocuted at work. He was 37 with 2 small kids. My wife and I heard about it on the radio driving home from work. Devastating! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and his family.
