Looking for honest opinions

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some opinions on my website. I built my website about 2 years ago by myself. I am not computer savvy at all it was a lot of trial and error to get it what it is now but I always think it can be better. I have asked every friend I have to look at and tell me what they think, they all say it looks good but I’m never really sure if they just don’t want to hurt my feelings so I decided to see what other contractors think. Please don’t worry about being negative.

My site is "" berkeyconstruction.com"

Thanks for the help.

I looked at it, and it seems to be fine so far. I especially like the before and after pix!
Nice touch!

I would try to reformat the home page so that there is no scrolling down.

Can you get at least 1 picture of your work on the home page w/ a link to your "photos" page?

Can you move your certification logos up and to the sides?

Where is says "Contact Us", that should be a link that opens a form or email, people are accustomed this, I clicked it 4 times before I finaly realized it wasn't a link. (OK, so I am a little dense)

Your photos take too long to load.

There were 1 or 2 photos where I had to go back and forth to figure out if it was a finished photo, particularly when there were laundry baskets and rumpled t-shirts hanging on banisters.

I'm personaly not a big fan on the before and afters(on my website and other advertisements, on forums is a different story), I prefer to just show some of my best afters.

Rework your list of services on your home page to include better keywords i.e. instead of "flooring" Hardwood Flooring, Tile Flooring, Carpet and Vynil Fooring. Use "Remodeling" instead of "Renovation" It is a much more used search term.

I like that you have your contact information on every page, but move it up so it is visible w/o scrolling on every page.

I would move that first paragraph at the top of your first page to another page, maybe the top of your Testimonials page. I honestly don't think many people read that kind of dense text, at least not until they've already made up their mind they are interested in your company, or if they are teetering on a decision.

IMO it still needs a lot of work, but it is a solid start and a good effort for having been done yourself.

On the homepage Budget is mis-spelled. There may be others, check it carefully.

On your home page, the Special promotions link leads to the photos, not the special promotions.

The Photos page take entirely too long to load. The photos are sized right, but it seems your server is pretty slow to upload. You may want to create thumbnails, only load those and load larger pics as called for.

On your links page, each link that is not located on your website should pop a new window. You will have to check any external links frequently, as they change often.

Other than that, I like the look and feel.
