Re: Life Insurance?

Have one for my spouse as a beneficiary.....AND

My business partner and I each have one on eachother...seriously. That way, if one of us kicks the bucket, the one left isn't left holding the company and bills together under alot of stress...

Tho, we don't go out of the way .......to make life "safer" .........for eachother ....

Re: Life Insurance?

I have $250,000 on me. If I kick off told the wife it is enough to pay what's left on the house mortgage and investment property mortgage. She has to get out and earn the rest after the that.

Re: Life Insurance?

I have a $300,000 policy on both of us. I figure that she is young enough to get over my death in about a week and remarry someone with more money. It is one thing to take care of her and another thing to set up her new husband with all of my toys and money.

My wife does not work, and my house and toys are paid for, I have kids approaching college age, granted I will not bear the full brunt of tuition, the expense of college is there, once the kids are out of college I will probably change my coverage, but it will stay in the range that my wife does not have to work, as I doubt she would re-marry.

Re: Life Insurance?

My post from the mason died post

"Guys you never know when you can get your card punched. just this morning I signed the papers on life insurance. Got 2 policies, 1 regular life for $250,000 cost $274. The other is a "Key Man Policy" that the company pays for, I'm a one man show with my wife helping with the books so if I die thats it, the company will get $500,000 to settle all debts and hire someone to finish all work. Any of the $500,000 left just passes thought the company to her as income. That cost is $481 a year. Great peace of mind that my wife and two girls ,4&7, will be fine for about $2 a day. If you got a sec call your insurance provider and sleep better."

Re: Life Insurance?

I have insurance through my local that will bury me. A policy for the ex-wife to pay her off. A policy for the current wife. A policy for my kids. So when I go a lot of women will be happy.

Me too, it is on my "To Do" list.

Kingfisher, I like the idea of the "key man policy", it makes sense. I will check into that.
