Just When You Think You've Seen...

My partner's running around late tonight putting out a fire that sprang up and he pulls up to a jobsite at 9:00 to drop off some equipment needed in the morning. Sitting in the entrance, blocking access, is a late model Mercedes with the hood up. The owner, dressed in a suit, immediately steps out from in front of the car and walks up to the driver's window of my partner's truck and explains that he had car trouble, pulled in the entrance to investigate, and has just gotten it straightened out. My partner backs out and lets the guy leave. When he pulls back into the entrance, adjacent to which our fuel tank is stored, he notices the fuel pump hose on the ground (nozzle draining) and the pump power cord strewn about. The friggin' guy in the Mercedes had been fueling his ride!

they would have been bigger if he would have properly replaced the hose. the truth is, you can't prove he stole gas. altough the evidence is there...

A late model Mercedes at that
They had a show on recently where a couple of yuppies in Houston were caught filling the back of their Escalade with stolen strips of sod.
They jumped out with camers and arrested them. The lady was crying and spouting how sorry she was

It was great...

Kinda makes you want to taint the fuel with a nasty additive???

Re: Just When You Think You've Seen...

I was hoping your story was gong to end that he had pumped diesel fuel into his car unknowingly. I am sure that this wasn’t his first free fill up, and you know his wife and the neighbor kids may have already hit it also. Oh well, there are idiots everywhere.

I saw that online but cjust can not remeber where! :-) Funny as hell. She was crying and blubbeiing... something about the husband being a DENTIST and then she asks the cop if they can "just write a check or something"... LOL

If I find the link later I'll post it.

As to the guy with the mercedes Too bad we dont have an icon with a different finger and pointed upward...

Whenever I see anything that looks to be out of place I write down the plate number just in case. If nothing is on the news or nothing is out of place I disregard it. Like whenever I see a woman or young girl on the side of the road and I see someone pull up to them I write down the plate number and type of vehicle and location then I keep an eye on things.

That's the one. We were cracking up watching it. I guess she felt it wasn't a crime? Of course if someone wrote her dentist husband a bad check that would be different?

Same mentality as Marth Stewart, Kenneth Lay of Enron, Bernard Ebbers of World Com, all multi-millionaires that can't resist stealing. 100 million isn't enough I need more!

How about Thomas Coughlin? The #2 man at Wal Mart forced to resign and now pursued by Wal Mart with criminal charges. This guys salary was I think about $6,000,000 last year.

According to Wal-Mart's account, Mr. Coughlin in May 2004 asked Mr. Bowen for 51 Wal-Mart gift cards, each with a value of $100. He said they would be given to that year's "All-Stars," who were generally lower-level employees recognized for superior performance.

Wal-Mart said Mr. Coughlin used the gift cards himself at Wal-Mart stores and Sam's Club outlets, at one point spending $1,000 toward three 12-gauge shotguns. A company spokeswoman said Wal-Mart was able to track all the purchases, saying Mr. Coughlin also used the cards to buy puppy chow, a Celine Dion compact disc, Stolichnaya vodka, wine, a $319 fishing license, a rifle case and a $3.54 Polish sausage.

I don't understand these people.

The older I get the more I realize that nothing pisses me off as much as a thief. Liars disgust or amuse me but thieves I'd like to hurt. Someone pointed out to me today that I could probably drive around the neighborhoods that surround the jobsite and find the car if I wanted to.

Last week, on New Year's Eve, a teenager stole my boy's new bike (first expensive one) out of our enclosed side porch. The dog happened to start barking when the kid entered the porch and when my boy let the dog out the front door the kid came out of the porch door and rode off down the driveway - and down the street. I jumped in my truck and, by luck, wound up catching up to the kid about 1/2 a mile away. When he heard the turbo spooling up on my diesel he ditched the bike in a yard and ran off into the woods. In hindsight, I'm glad I didn't actually catch the kid - I was blind with anger and probably would have done something stupid.

Thieves deserve everything they get, and then some.

They say you shouldn't hate......well, I HATE thieves. I don't care if it's a pack of gum. I've busted my ass to get everything I have in this world (which ain't much) but damnit, I've done it on my own. Point the thieves out and I'll beat the tar out of em for ya....no skin off my back. I'll do a Tonya Harding on a thief in a minute without thinking twice. Even some rich bitch and her husband stealing sod....I saw that show....PATHETIC.

Re: Just When You Think You've Seen...

I would laugh at this, but I'm too pissed off. Today I had a cordless reciprocating saw, light, battery and bag, and one of the batteries to a cordless drill taken out of my truck. It was either at the customer house or HD.

Now where's that insurance policy...

Re: Just When You Think You've Seen...

I had a 2 cars broken into when I was younger and had stereo stuff stolen. Then I had my whole fricking car stolen for the stereo stuff in it while I was standing in the parking lot less than 10 feet away. I saw a buddy there and pulled in to talk for a few left the car running got out to talk to him. some jumps in and starts to drive off I got a good look at him but that was 4-5 years but I remember very well and if I ever see him I will follow him and make his life a living hell. They found the car the next day striped and at the bottom of a lake

I do the same thing, - - someday it'll pay off for someone.
