I'm not talking about the work that is done by a contractor. But, more along the lines of details of your business plan and stratigies ect....

Don't be so bewildered and frown on the business lessons that can be share also.

Even that is something that can be shared and wind up helping your own cause out at the same time.

The best business lesson I received many years ago, was when a friend who was a salesman at another company told me I was charging way too little. He then showed me several of his estimates and prices per square.

From that, I realized that I had place a very low ceiling on my desired and expected profit, if there even was any realistically.

Now, I just had to learn to add more value to increase the reasoning for paying double of what I was charging at that time.

I say let em come and we'll give the initiation. The real guys or (women, lets not forget them) will hang tough and probably be fun to have around.

I do like to think maybe the first 10 posts everyone is on probation. If you pass, come on in, if you don't then over to the DIY area or even the Dr Phil forum. If there is a Dr. Phil; forum.
You don't think we initiate the new comers? As far as I am concerned I think most new comers that make themselves known (AKA MZ, Macrophagy 1,2,3) and ask stupid questions or do stupid things get there ass initiated out the door.

I've put up with my fair share of the hazing routine but I'm still here. The guys/girls who have thin skin are typically surrounded by "Yes Men" and aren't accustomed to having someone tell them the sometimes brutal truth IMO.

Hazing is not a requirement to join CT, it is only done when it is deserved. Here are a list of steps to follow as a new member to avoid hazing

1- Officially introduce yourself, this should be your first post in the INTRO section, tell us what you do.

2-Jump in on a thread offer up an opinion, Mix it up a bit with the gang, and dont be a NOITALL.

3-Dont be a dick

Thats it, after that all you have left to do is hang out, have fun, learn and share, and haze the dopey newcomers that come behind you....G
