What do you guys think? Any criticism is good, im planning on making some much bigger and more in depth ones. How much do you think someone would pay for a table like this>?

Battle,
Don't listen to this guy. He is just jealous because he can't do what you have done.

I think you have a limited market on a table like that. It does have that Scandinavian look to it that cranky butt is referring to but a whole lot sturdier than anything coming from Ikea.
The trouble I see in marketing an item like this is that most people are price conditioned by places like Ikea. Something else that butox for brains was hinting at. So you have to swim against the tide to get your paycheck.
Construction wise the thing that strikes me is that you can't break it down. The through tenons on the legs look cool but if you were to try and sell this thing outside of striking distance from your place, you'll have to flat stack it in a box.
If this is just for fun and you are fishing for coo dos then you have some from me. Good job young man

RSB, break into your kid's piggy bank and replace that bottle of holy water will you?

Re: Just Finished My New Table!!

Gus pretty much nailed it in his summary. It would take a bit more polish to make it high end and everyone else is off to Ikea. Don't think the market is their for selling them.

I made it for my GF she needed a make up table, but I wanted to build a bigger one and maybe sell it at a art studio, I do phototography and was thingking about putting the pics on it but have the table for sale as well. I was going to use glulam materials for a base on the big one though, kinda timber framed. Just curious what people thought really.

Re: Just Finished My New Table!!

I think the legs should be a bit beefier. It's a neat concept though and I bet people at the shows will dig that you made it.

If an art studio is the venue then you need to make it look like art.

You can keep the simple lines but the detailing needs to be flawless. Sand sand and sand some more. Then the finish has to be spot on as well.

Selling functional pieces in an art studio is tough. The table has to really grab someone's attention. Then the closer they look the more impressed they need to be.

This is good stuff though. Congrats to you for putting it out there.

The top is cool.
IMO you should rotate the legs
90º and spread the bottoms
of them a bit outward.

'Course if I where you the GF's
opinion would be all that counts.
