Re: Jobsite Hidden Cameras

Yeah, we get the same response here about camera footage from the cops now. But quite a few years back I had some chit stolen and a buddy spotted it at the local college of all places and called me up. I called the cop on the case and he called the college cops and they called the judge and then the county sheriff got involved and by the time they showed up with the warrant there were eight cops including a statey for good measure. Kid fessed up to all of it and ratted out his buddies with that many cops crowding his dorm room. Got most of my stuff back and then for a couple years I got a monthly check for restitution to cover lost work!

20 off the ground one a pole. A couple of them. One on each side.
Add solar panel for a better effect. They can be fake too. Nobody would know.

The next day I found out where my stuff was, I called the investigator and told him to have a deputy there, that I was on my way to get my stuff...

He told me "Mr Hooker, if you go down there and load that stuff up and pull out in the road, we will have to arrest you"

Yeah, sorry for the rant, lol, the further down memory lane I went, the madder I got.

There is a much longer story that goes along with this but I wont drag yall through all of that.

And ...I will invest in some cameras, Ive got a pretty big job coming up, and its right on side of the road out in the boon docks, but when my stuff got stolen Rosco, Enus, and the Boss werent going to help me even if I had cameras.

Nowadays it's better to deal with thieves on a personal level, most police depts. don't do squat about getting your stuff back. Most bad guys aren't going to call the cops on you for coming after your stuff. Give 'em a good beat down if the situation is right, they'll remember that more than a night in jail which about all they will get from the cops if caught.

Re: Jobsite Hidden Cameras

In ONTARIO, Canada,by law you must clearly post warnings of surveillance video AND you must insure they cover ONLY the property you are responsible for. I find night shots from my own (pretty expensive) trail came a little unsatisfying. On the other hand there has been zero damage or theft since the signs went up! I leave the cam obviously in sight and out of reach. So far, I do think it is the signage that is protecting me!
