They are simple. I like the W and the text.

I just really hate busy cards and signs.

I don't put my signs out too often.

YES simple! In our area the logos are so complicated and artsy you can't read them! Which of course defeats the purpose of advertising.

Guys, also if your name has what you do in it, you don't really need extra wording, usually it is too small to read anyway. Leave the sales for when they call you up.

If you think you really need complicated logos, check these out:

Funny thing about the Fed Ex logo. Many adults don't see the arrow in the logo. Kids-really young ones- can pick it out quickly since they aren't reading the words.

Site signs are THE best advertising you can do. We get TONS of new jobs off our signs. We go through over 200 signs a year.

Re: Job Site Signs

I signed up for a trade show 12 hrs before it started so I used my lawn signs (the only thing I had) and a little slideshow of my work. Lawn signs helped allooottttt.

ps- I only did the show because I got a last min discount.

Re: Job Site Signs

Here's mine. I took an old job site sign from my Dad's previous business, sanded, polished and primed it, and then made my own template and hand painted this with an artists brush. Later I gave it a clear-coat to protect it.

I was planning on getting my stuff redesigned sooner, rather than later. BUT, Now that I have to comply with the EPA, it tapped into my funds,...And I have to wait longer now so I can recoupe some of it!

We use FedEx all the time. Until today, I never ONCE saw the arrow. Now it's all I can see...

Interesting the way the brain works.

Gee, and here I thought that Oklahoma was in the middle of nowhere.

Just for interest, lets see some job site signs from our members, and how creative we are. This picture is a current job site, and I don't mind the other signs. Thoughts?[/quote]

Re: Job Site Signs

I think the best lesson on signs are:

1. Keep it simple
2. Large enough to read
3. The 2 second rule: i.e.: think of your sign as a billboard on the freeway and you are going 70 miles an hour. Whatever message you are trying to convey, it needs to be done in less than 2 seconds - which is about the amount of time it take to notice and pass that billboard on the freeway.

BTW: I live in CA in Silicon Valley and considering the enormous cost of billboards, it always boggles my mind when a tech firm obviously has their engineers design a billboard ad: 99 times out of 100 you have no clue what they are saying, much less trying to read the volumes of text they have on the board -- the same thing is true for non-profits who insist on using some French Impressionist Painting for their ad.

So you don't need to advertise Plumbing by Joe's Plumbing, or Framing by Fred's Framing.

Speaking of keeping it simple, this is 24 x 36, very easy to read "at speed".
