Here it depends on the county, the county I live in to build a ag building you need a building permit. The next county over as long as its ag use no permit is needed.

We have many counties with no building requirements but you have to get state electrical, plumbing, and septic inspections. Sewage is a public health issue no matter where you go. Many times i've seen the neighbors family pets tromping through a failed septic system, then home to play with the kids. If your neighbors are sick, your kids are sick too.

I know of a ranch where the septic is an old Buick buried in the ground...

When my wife was the health inspector and she got a call of raw sewage on the ground, she would evict people if it was not brough to code within 7 days. That was before aids. Raw sewage is nothing to mess with.

But an old Buick in sandy soil could work great for a thousand years.

Same buick in clay would be a different story.

Around here they ar putting in above ground drain feilds, all it is is a tank ontop of the ground with dirt pilled up on it.

I know sewage isnt something to play in and my dad will stick his hand in it all the time if something is plugged up. I tell him over and over he will get sick but he does it anyways, I guess Im stupid Whats worse is its at the apartment house with the scum of society living there.

Unfenced open pond is nothing i'd be proud of. Dogs, kids, livestock, birds. I would think most states would shut that down if they knew about it.

If the soil is right, septics can be pretty simple.

I used to have a good immune system . Last year i snaked two rentals one day to save a hundred bucks. I was sick for two months. This year I'll pay the pros.
