I'm Getting A New Roof!!

Oh what a joy!!!

50-60 mph.

That was the wind speed on a lil ol' storm that blew through here Satudray night around midnight. It only lasted for about an hour or two.

When I went outside Sunday morning, there were shingles all over my back yard. A little trip up the ladder confirmed they were from my roof. Lost about two dozen shingles.

Today, the weather man says we have a storm that should be here tomorrow and last for two days. There is a high wind advisory with this particular storm.

They are projecting 60-70 mph winds.

For 2 DAYS. NOT 2 hours.

I wonder if I can find someone on craigslist that will "beat any estimate" for picking up shingles out of the yard.

Bummer about the roof, man. Those are some heavy winds - you use shutters to "batten down the hatches?"

My windows have been open for so long that I can't close them anymore. Seriously. I was laying in bed and getting rained on.

That's typical here though.

Sounds like you needed one, how old is it? Insurance should hopefully take care of it even though it may be prorated.
