IBC Outlet Thread?
Kind of a plumbing question, but then again . . .
Can't search on "IBC" here, it doesn't have enough letters. I recently acquired a 250-275 gallon Intermediate Bulk Container for supplying my pressure washer when out of reach of piped water supplies. It has a 2" ball valve for an outlet, and I want to start cobbling up some adapters from the tank valve to the inlet on the pwasher. I might end up using a thread gauge anyway, to be sure I'm getting everything right, but does anyone know offhand what would be on the end of that valve? IPT, maybe? It looks like a fairly fine thread, if that narrows down the possibilities any. I can try the trial-and-error method, but thought I'd see if I could shorten the process by asking here first. Thanks for any info. |

Re: IBC Outlet Thread?
Yeah, I probably could, but it's kinda, well, bulky. (Still waiting on a truck for all this gear.) It'd almost be less of a PITA to get some adapters, bring 'em to where the tank is, and try 'em until something matches--as long as I don't booger up the threads in the process.
I now have a sneaking suspicion it'll turn out to be something odd, like BSP.

Re: IBC Outlet Thread?
Can't help with your actual question, but you can search the site for something like that, via Google. For the search terms, enter:
IBC site:contractortalk.com Then go crosseyed, because you'll be looking at a huge pile of results talking about the International Building Code. |

Re: IBC Outlet Thread?
International code? Like we ain't got enough of 'em in the U.S.? Urk.
![]() Thanks for the tip, though. (Dunno why I didn't think of that. Probably some kind of brain strain from researching all this stuff.) Timo's idea makes good sense; I think I'll try that. |
