I Thought This Was A Funny Ad

I need someone to install a few basic cabinets on a wall at my hair salon. This is a very simple job, but I do not have time to do it myself. Here are the specifics.
1. Go to the Salon and measure the wall and figure out how many and the configuration of cabinets that can fit on the wall.
2. Go to home depot with check and purchase cabinets (we have a bunch of these already installed at the salon - you can measure them to make sure you get the same kind) They should be about $40 each.
3. Return to salon with cabinets. Install/Anchor to wall - must screw into studs or use sufficient anchors.
4. Install cabinet locks on each cabinet (again look at the existing ones to see what kind to get at home depot).

We will likely want to paint these at some point in the future as well - but for now this is all.

This should take about 2 hours to measure, drive, and pickup supplies.
And about 3-4 hours to complete the job at the most. I have done it several times and this should be more than sufficient for anyone with proper tools and such.

We will pay $100 to do the entire job. You can complete it in an afternoon - Sunday or Monday is prefered because there will be hardly no one in the salon.

Please email me details on your experience, reliability and make sure to indicate you have proper tools to complete and a phone number to call you at. You will require at least the following: Drill, bits (wood blade drill bits as well), screws 1 1/2 - 2 in (we may have some), level, square, tape measure, router/chisel (router is for the lock - alot of times you have to shave off a bit on the inside to make the lock fit correctly) - check other cabinets to see how it was done.

Do people think that indep. contractors can afford to do all that for $100.00? I think not!!!!!!!

Re: I Thought This Was A Funny Ad

I wouldnt pull my router out of the truck for 100 dollars. That job is best for Johnny up the street.

So they want you to estimate the materials, drive and pick them up, drive back and install all for the low low price of 100.00, yeah right on that one.

I dont know about the rest of yall but I wont touch any cabinetry for less than 400.00/lf.

That is such a pathetic miserly ad. The person that posted it only has one hope: Illegal worker, or to go down to the nearest bar looking for an unemployed drunk - and even those guys might laugh at them....

Are you saying that you would not install cabinetry for less than $400 a ft?
If so you would go hungry around here.
Or I should move in with you

No, i DONT think thats GOOD money but if it was a friend in my neiborhood and HD was not 50 miles away i'd do it especially in times like now. I would ask for a free hair cut too though.

.....screws 1 1/2 - 2 in (we may have some), level, square, tape measure, router/chisel (router is for the lock - alot of times you have to shave off a bit on the inside to make the lock fit correctly) - check other cabinets to see how it was done.

Check with the guy who "made it fit correctly" on the existing cabs...see what he has to say about working for these dip-****s.

....well, it's certainly a relief to know they have some 1 1/2" -2 in screws already there...that will save a bunch of time and money for sure.
I hope to hell we never get to a point where $100 bucks for a job like this actually looks good to us!

Only in Texas, we have so many non legal workers, people think they can get everything done for cents on the dollar.

I am eventually going to move as I have had about enough of it.

It can get to you be it's happening everywhere. As the economy tightens all the a-holes come out of the woodwork. It's like a feeding frenzy.

I hear tales from all over the country about the idiots out there.
