I Need Help PLEASE

Ok, next monday I have an interview with an electrical contractor. I am VERY nervous and I really want to get in.

How should I prepare for the interview? What should I wear? Please help.

Also, this would be my first job in electrical and it is for an apprenticeship program.

What I am bringing to the table.

1. VERY good work ethics
2. Extreme willingness to learn and excel whatever is needed
3. A.A. in engineering
4. A few months experience in remodeling and painting but not a lot.

Please help me out

Thanks a lot in advanced.

I can help you in one area, and that is posting links. When you click post link, then add the link, the last part of the link highlights for you. All you have to do to some really long link (like you have there) is type in "career builder job" or similar and voila! the link is attached to what you typed and we don't see the long cryptic address you have ther.

I'm guilty myself.

Sounds like you're conscientious, so there's a plus in my book any day...and willingness to learn

You are a product. A product that you are selling. The best thing that you can do is believe in the product you are selling. The engineering degree, although you can't do much with it without furthering your education, should help a lot.

As far as what you should wear, you aren't applying to be an office assistant, so I'd go casual.....Nice jeans and perhaps a tucked in polo. Shoes say a lot about the people that wear them, so wear nice looking, clean shoes. If you haven't submitted a resume`, then bring one with you. Be extremely familiar with what is on your resume`, if a question comes up, you'll want to be able to give a split second answer. Also, references help, both personal and professional. If you can get a few professional references, that would help a lot.

Good luck with your interview, and let us know how it goes.

I will say this. You seem to be very enthusiastic about getting into the trade. It has come through in your posts asking for advise.I would give you a chance on that alone...At the interview, be confident and be yourself.
GOOD LUCK

Learn about the company and be able to tell them how you will be an asset and fit in. Do not ask about salary, benefits etc. Try not to talk negative about any past employers. Think of some specific problems you were able to solve that would highlight your skills.
Good luck!

PANTS!! You mean I should wear pants to an interview?? No wonder the receptionists always look funny at me when I apply for a job. PANTS, Geez, I wish I had known. As far as the farts I carry Fabreeze
But seriouse newguy07, all you need to do is present yourself in a professional manner, let him/her know you are motivated to learn, sometimes saying you have a family or plan on starting a family usually leads one to believe you have a greater need to work. And like Shed-n-deck stated "You are a product', beleive in that product and sell that product. Sounds as if you should be fine. good luck

GOOD LUCK
Confidence to an employer is what we look for. As everyone else stated be your self and try not to over sell your self because if you can't produce....well you know. Good luck with the interview.
