Cant there be something in the rules, maybe a box that gets checked off by the new member that states, (I WILL NOT ASK HOW MUCH SOMETHING SHOULD COST TYPES OF QUESTIONS) Night after Night the same old story, figure it out

There's a solution to those threads.

Don't read them.

Don't respond to them.

Re: Howmuchhowmuchhowmuchfu

I'm divided, 50/50 on which are more stupid...How much?...or How do I?

I understanbd a regular hopping in to ask about a new product, or even a variation of his trade thats new to him...but the constant new members asking how to solder, install, replace, repair or..yes, price work they shouldn't be doing in the first place almost always leads to our wisecracks and some of the GC's taking it the wrong way.

Must be the moon!
Seems like a bumper crop of
multiple posts, how much,
how to what I shouldn't,
and what to when
they sue me for it.

Oh and mix in some
salesmen and "consultants."

A special day indeed!

Re: Howmuchhowmuchhowmuchfu

So how much should I charge for a job redoing an exterior of a historic home?? The HO is supplying the material. Is $12,467.86 too much?? How much profit will I make after I pay my guys and overhead. The HO wants the color of the house to be brown when I am done.

How much can we charge every time a homeowner asks "how much will that be?"

Almost tired of making good suggestions to people because even if it's a great idea, they want to know what it will cost them. I can see why guys like to build spec homes.

howmuchhowmuchhowmuch does it take to scroll right on by a post if it doesnt interest you. how do people learn anything. ask questions and pay attention. skip the post if its such a problem. just like junk mail. throw it away and move on. just seems like there are guys that started out their careers knowing everything. why not ask questions in this manner rather than annoying someone in person

I agree with most everything you guys are saying but come on now. Do you just wip out the card or give the go ahead for everything you buy without knowing the price first?
I have to know the price of every option first. Probably why i do everything around my house myself.

That's Right Dammit!!!!! You must first forsake all other things in your life such as work, sleep, eating, and family so that you can spend every minute of every day on this site and average 12 posts a day for 6 months....Then you can speak to whomever you wish however you wish.

You really do not like me and my opinions. But that is quite acceptable because opinions are what make this site what it is.

Ask a specific question about methodology in a particular forum and you may get many different and seemingly contradictory answers. It comes down to personal experience that form personal opinions and methodologies! We are ALL entitled to opinions.

Concerning my time spent here......I am all but retired and loving it!

POST SCRIPT: Has it REALLY been six months since I first landed here?? Wow! Time sure does fly!

You could always go to the intro. treads and post, "Hello...questions about pricing will be met with harsh criticism." But what fun would that be? I get some of my best laughs from those posts.

Your right, kinda like an initiation on CT, this site is notorious for it's antics.

I figure if the new member can't take the humor, he probably hasn't worked on a jobsite.

Here's just an observation. If your complaining about the posts, chances are you post count is 3 digits or more. If you complainig about the complainers, your post counts are 2 digits or less.

I feel physic.

Good Luck
