How long does your tape measure last?

Hey guys I was wondering how long do your tapes last and what brand do you like? It seems like I cant get a tape to last very long the tip always gains a 1\16" or so pretty quick.

Sounds like you are letting it SLAM home. My blades wear out long before the tips do.

Rules are for finish work, not tapes. For tapes, I use FatMax 25's and 30's.

every once in a while it does lol I try to be careful though, maybe its cause the tapes were crapsman they are the only crapsman tool I buy just cause of the warrenty but now they are gettin picky about returns.

Sand is the issue around here. If you're using it outdoors the sand abraids the coating in no time and it won't retract.

I like the Sears craftman 30' tape. It has a lifetime warranty. I usually return it every 3 to 4 months for new one.

Fatmax....Someone on here turned me to them about a year ago....great tape in 25' and 30'. Dependant on the work framing, drywall, finish work - effects their longevity...

I use the orange Luftkin (sp?) 25. I'm kind of a tard with the 1/8 - 1/4 - 5/8th's measurments so I like it right there.
I buy a new one every 2 to 3 months. The tape is kinda a POS but water is what usually kills mine. It is exactly the same measurment as frammers 30 fatmax.
