How To Beat Black Friday Lines Advice

I told my secretary this last week and she followed through with it to avoid the lines and hassle and ensure that she got the sale item in advance.

First, sign up at various Black Friday sales forums and e-mail alert sites. The one that helped save me $ 500.00 on my new Panasonic 1080p Plasma TV, was www.BlackFriday.info but there are many others out there too. Just do a Google search on various "Deals" and "Sales" with the term "Black Friday" in it. Don't use the quotation marks.

Now, see if the store has the item currently in stock beforehand.

Find out their return exchange policy and see if they exclude price3 matching even from their own store due to special sales events, such as Black Friday.

Buy it in advance, or if they have a lay-away plan, then do that. That is getting popular again at some stores.

On the date of the sale, just go back to the store with the receipt at your convenience and get the sale amount credited on your recent purchase.

No 4:00 am waiting in lines to get a number and no worrying about them running out of stock on the item before you can get to it.

Hope this helps.

Ed

I have even a better way, blow off shopping for the whole week, starting Thursday, I'll gladly pay more for something I want rather than deal with all of the a-holes.

Re: How To Beat Black Friday Lines Advice

Funny timing Ed, i just wrote an article the other day on the subject and just published another one a few minutes ago (both on a new site of mine, not my home improvement sites). Those black Friday sites are going wild with keeping up on all of the deals! I made some bold prediction about this being a record setting black Friday before it even happens---my way of helping the economy (getting people to spend).

Re: How To Beat Black Friday Lines Advice

The point is, why bother with any lines at all, when you can get the deal you were looking for, in advance of the adverttised sale date, just by following the instructions.

Even if you guys don't want to do that, I bet your wives would be interested.

I just did practically the same thing when buying a new suit. I went to the store on Thursday, sale was on Friday. They held the suit till the next day, went in to pick it up and they knocked 60% off.

Exactly my point.

Why the heck pay full price, just because you do not want to be one of those idiots waiting all morning in line just for a chance.

Here's why I don't go shopping on "Black Friday".

Wal-Mart worker dies in Black Friday stampede: reports

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- A Wal-Mart worker at its Long Island store has died after being trampled by a throng of unruly shoppers looking for Black Friday bargains, according to media reports Friday. At least three other people were injured in the incident, the reports said. The exact cause of death was not known yet. Black Friday takes its name from the profits retailers hope to rack up at the start of the holiday shopping season

The guy died and people were more concerned about getting deals on crap, what a screwed up world.
