Hourly Rate for Finish Carpentry in Seattle

what's a decent hourly rate for finish carpentry in seattle? i've got about 10 years doing remodeling but wouldn't say i'm a full-fledged finish carpenter. i'm most skilled at drywall hanging/finishing but no drywall needed for this job. not sure what to charge. any advice would be appreciated. thanks!

One of my better finish subs is 60/hr. He can do anything and has a complete workshop.

Not in the mood to bash so your lucky. If this is not what you do then you don't belong charging for what you know that well. If it's base, crown, or casing then $25 or so is fair. But you work should be tight not ful of chaulk and filler to fill the gaps.

If you're only charging $25/hour, it amazing that you're "hardly working"- you should be swamped with work. Of course, at $25/hour, you should be "hardly able to pay the bills"...........

Charging hourly is like slowly starving yourself, especially if the job is only going to take a day or two. Even if its just a labor bid give them a solid number, figure out how much time it will take you to do it (don't be shy either) and charge a third more per hour than you think you should if you were charging hourly. Then do it right and get it done.

Hourly Rate for Finish Carpentry in Seattle

I just got services from a contractor before one month and he just asked 5$ for an hour. I just got shocked!! By the way, have you heard of *******.com? It really simplifies finding affordable contractors. I used it to find them for my construction. Essentially, after I described what I needed on this site, I received several competitive bids from local contractors. I liked the fact that I didn’t have to call around and negotiate with each, and that contractors actually came to me.

AWESOME! It's so rare that someone on their FIRST FKING POST has such useful information!

And with a SPECIFIC FKING website!

THANK YOU KIND SIR as I will NOW log onto it to solve ALL my problems!

And knowing you are a "contractor" ASSURES me this will work!

I thought you couldn't put up your website until after you had 10 or 20 posts. This guy has only one. It's also blatently advertising.
What gives?

That was a spammer. That company had about 10 different accounts created just to spam their URL. It's been added to our censor list.

Lose the attitude

Some of the responses and attitudes from people who have posted in this thread are ridiculous. This forum is suppose to help people help each other out. Loose the attitude I say. How the hell can you expect someone to know everything? Not everyone has been at this for 20 years, and even if they have the experience doing the work they may not have experience running a small business. These answers like "if you don't know, you shouldn't be doing it" is pure crap.
