Wow! I guess I won't need my Hughes account much longer. That's too bad because I've found them to be one of my best vendors.

It amazes me how well HD does, they try new stuff all the time, they buy out competition, they expand, they put other competition out of business. I think we could all learn a few lessons from HD we all want to make money right? I would love to build my business to a point that no one will even think about building decks in Colorado Springs becuase they cannot compete with my company. Is this going to happen? HIGHLY unlikely but at the same time I dont want to say never. Competition is good for all of us it makes a better product and lower prices. If there was only one power tool maker we would be spending $1,000 on a circ saw that would break in a year. When HD moves in and a mom and pop shop have to close it is sad BUT if they adapt and say "What can we do to compete? We cant compete with prices, customer service needs to be one of them." But there is more to it than just better customer service they need to offer products that HD does not. And services that HD cannot compete with.
