Help With Galveston Rebuilding

Hello professional contractor colleagues!

Have a good crew that is idled here in California due to the ****storm that is brewing in the remodeling/rebuilding industry. But, don't want to be idle and would like to contribute to the rebuilding efforts that are undoubtedly needed in Galveston and surrounding areas. Am willing to travel and contribute but don't frankly know how to start. Can anyone make any suggestions? Perhaps I will have the opportunity to meet some of you out there on the East Coast! Thanks! Dan

Re: Help With Galveston Rebuilding

I would start with Galveston County. The city of Galveston is in Galveston County and they won't be as damaged or as swamped as the city itself is. They can tell you what you need paperwork wise to get started.

HI GL!

Thanks for your response. I will check with Galveston County, Texas and make inquiries. BTW, do you know if there is any license reciprocity with Texas and California? Although I have a general's license here in CA, I'm not sure how it would be viewed in TX.

Thanks again and good luck with your work future! Dan

Housing still is hard to find, supplies are inflated and insurance is slow as shyte.
Galveston is the most crooked and clannish place anyone could want to work at. It may be different now that they "need" outsiders?

I have worked there in the past and wouldn't touch that place again. The officials there should be horse whipped for keeping the area closed.

Sorry, I have dealt with those jerks and have never been through anything like it in my life.

Did you go to Galveston? If so were you successful in getting information regarding rebuilding from the effects of the hurricane? Please let me know what you found out.
