Re: Help!

I haven't been yelled at since I left residential. Only praised. It was weird the first year of some idiot not yelling.
The last company I was asked to join I wanted 25 dollars a hour plus medical. The general foreman said I can't get that for you. "Only the office gets medical and I get paid 25 dollars a hour" he said. This was from the general foreman for a developer. If that guy is still working for them I get paid way more than him and get my medical. LOL

Re: Help!

I have only been yelled at once. man yelled because we had to stop at another job to install windows (about 3 hours) then I said we would be there. Started yelling, hung up phone. Later on he came to the window job, started yelling some more, told him to get his backside out the truck and see if his fists could back up his words. Stayed in truck, called me back a week later, now we are good friends. i dont let NO ONE yell at me. No way. Wont happen, I dont need work that bad.

Re: Help!

Last time someone yelled at me, was about 15 years ago, subbing for a retail store.

I get there and start my work, and a big SOB about a foot taller and out weighed me by at least 150, the builders superintendent, barges in the door and starts screaming at me, why I'm not done yet, and how things better get done real fast because such and such. Like he was god and my boss. I cracked him across the knee cap with my knee kicker, and branded him across the face. Knocked him out cold and he is bleeding bad. I thought I killed him. Pack my sh..tuff fast as I had just got started, by throwing it all in a bucket, and out the door I went. Back at the retailers, I knew the cops were coming... I never heard a word... Not even from the retailer, but I sure got loaded down with a lot of work after that. I don't think the retailer liked the guy, either and he didn't lose the account. Never saw the guy again in the subdivision.

Re: Help!

This is the poor guy who will crack and come to work with a WalMart 48 hour waiting period weapon and unload on his boss, and anyone else in the area.
Prevent that tomorrow morning and when you get to work, just kick him square in the balls. Course then you'll hafta find a new job. But maybe you'll humle the guy up. Your not in grade school anymore, you don't deserved to get bullied and yelled at man!
Be Safe,
JAY

Re: Help!

I have to say that I am split on this one. I had a salesman that used to throw pens at me from across thr room if he thought that I did not catch something on the plans. I was his assistant. Yeah, I fixed that situation, but I am not to far from you and with the current market in our area jobs are not easy to come by. He is not worth the unemployment line.

Very good idea.

If a grown man can't get his point across without raising his voice, then something is seriously wrong. You should not have to deal with this kind of behavior day in day out.

Yes, we all lose our cool once in a blue moon, but usually we apologize if we shout at someone. That should go without saying.

I once had a boss who yelled at me a couple of times a week, and before long I couldn't take it any more, and got fired for yelling back. That was the only time I ever got fired.

Re: Help!

Does your company have a Human Resource? If so, I would discuss this with them. One thing is this, if he is giving you crap he is probably giving others the same. Ever heard about "Job Harassment "?

I hate hot heads but in this field they are every where.

Re: Help!

i agree (with someone?) - go to his boss.

Explain that your boss is becoming a distraction and that you feel like it is costing the company loss in money and valuable labor time. Show him on paper how he is costing your company money

Then make friends with his boss. Then take your boss' job

I tell ya ... if I ever went back to working as an employee - one thing for sure is I'd be takin some jobs. Especially from loudmouth mfers. And I'd have a lot of fun doing it - oh and I'd be good at it, heheh

Re: Help!

My old boss was a yeller. He would tell you to do something then yell at you for doing it(personally i think he was messed up in the head or something). One day I just had enough of it told him screw off and walked out. He called me a few times after that and wanted me to come back cause I was one of his best workers. Best day of my life was the day I walked out cause after that I started my own company and have been doing great on my own ever since.

Re: Help!

MY normal respone to someone yelling at me at work is, "Is someone bleeding? Is someone hurt?". When they (of course) say no, then I ask that they not act like they are. Usually this works, but if not, I just hang up/walk away. I refuse to deal with children.

Do not allow or accept this behavior. Bring it to his boss if you can't diffuse it yourself.
