You could also try wearing a pair of Under Armour compression shorts (the longer ones) under your jeans. They fit snug and eliminate the rubbing. My wife likes me in 'em too!!!

You guys are a hoot.
THanks for all the good advice and the hard ribbing. I KNEW that was coming.

I think I will try the nylons, glide and compression shorts first in that order simply because of cost.

The thing is, I am in good shape. 6' tall 185 pounds. But my legs have always been kind of stocky. Anyways, this is definitely more advice and good ideas than I had before. I sure aint going to ask anyone I work with everyday.....

I use to run ultramarathons, that Glide stuff really works. Kinda embarassing applying it at the trailhead. Put it on before you go to work.

Hey I have been remodeling for a couple of years but I just signed on as a foreman for a framing crew. I will be working in the heat. I know that in the past I have had real problems with chafing on my inner thighs where the skin rubs together and from sweating. I know some of you guys know what i am talking about.
I have tried baby powder, gold bond cream, vagisil (DONT LAUGH IT WORKS PRETTY GOOD), cortizone, neopsorin etc.
nothing really seems to heal it after it has started.

My question is how did you guys deal with this when you had it? How can I avoid it? What products have you used?

It hasnt kicked in yet and I got a couple more weeks hopefully.

HELP!!!

My wife sells Passion Parties products and what you need is Liquid Body Silk. Women use this stuff underneath their bras so that they don't sweat as much and so their clothing doesn't chaffe. I recommend emailing her and ordering some. It's like a liquid baby powder, non irritating. her email is passionbysheena at yahoo.com

Man up.

Construction work is often dirty nasty work. Learn to love it with all its pain.

The ONLY time I ever became RAW down "there" was when I was framing a home next door to the Nolan Ryan Elementary school in Alvin, TX (over 100F every day) It was too far to drive home to Conroe everyday, so we parked near the beach and slept in our vehicles. The air was humid and hot all night so we would go swimming before we'd turn in.

With no fresh water showers available, you just slept in wet shorts - briefs - boxers whatever, and they wear dry.

The next day involved removal of some vines to get access to the side we were cornicing. So combine sea salt shorts and poison ivy in your crotch.

I cried like the proverbial little girl for three days.

Now that that's off my chest...and out of my pants. I found that letting the clothing take the friction is better than skin.

Boxer briefs.

You might want to try thet stuff in a spray can for jock itch, I use the Walgreens brand and it works great. Apply it in the morning before you go to work, then again when you get home. It will feel like someone set fire to ya for a few seconds, but that tells ya it's working. Never tried Glide but it looks like something that will work too. I'm 6'-5" weigh 215 so we are built about the same.

very good point as I react badly to some brands of laundry detergent. One day last year in the heat I took a bathroom break to find my legs were itchy like poison ivy and red as a lobster all over. Arm and hammer detergent for me always. And I wear sams club members mark blue jeans all year regardless of heat or cold. even if its 100F. cotton long johns under if below 20F, and I never ever wear shorts at work.

Re: Heat Rash/severe Chafing On Inner Thighs?

I had this problem a couple of years ago in the summer, to the point my skin at the upper inside part where the leg ends and the body starts was cracking and red and frigging SORE! It was brutal. It was because i wore boxers and my balls were swinging against my legs all day. Used some gold bond POWDER and went back to tight briefs. Went away fast and it never came back again. i can now wear boxers. Weird.....

I get it real bad. Without doubt the best thing for it is A&D cream. I have tried everything the last 5 years and this stuff has completely stopped it.
