HD Prices

Is it me or have HD prices been going up . I'm talking about the things you don't buy every day,odd ball stuff, hinges, screws ,nails . Lumber is down, thats just the economy but when I look on line for cabinet hinges and see they are 1/4 the price I just paid at HD it just pisses me off.

I think a lot of the prices are out of line ,I'm sure home owners don't mind or give a damn or that everything is freaking junk ,low quality made for HD.

I guess my problem is I just hate having to go to a HD [HOME DEPOT SUCKS],they have put every lumber yard in my county out of business and to compare their stuff to the old lumber yards is a joke.

I think I just turned this into a rant , sorry .

Ah, the rare Orange Spotted Rant! Quick, catch it before it gets away!

I just stopped in at HD a couple of hours ago, for the first time in quite a while. Cleaning out the truck, and I needed a couple of handcuffs for my extension cords. That's one thing you have to hand to the Boxes, they're around on the weekend.

I didn't do any pricing, but it looks like they've been working on cutting fat, and I actually had two different employees ask if I needed help finding anything. And the checkout bag advertises "thousands" of lower prices throughout the store.

Over the years, Lowes seems better sometimes, and then HD takes it for a while, and then it swings back again. From here, looks like it might be swinging toward HD in the near future.

Re: HD Prices

The typical marketing for "discount stores" is to have advertised specials at wholesale and then make the profit on other items. The illusion is that all the prices are discounted....not so.

Re: HD Prices

Your just noticing this now?

This has been practice for years, the typical everyday sundries are the best prices, everyone checks them and that's it. Buy a special item not normally priced and it's more than most other places.
