Have Any Of You Guys Ever Spent Money Advertising With Your Local Baseball Team?

I got a call from a guy who represents my local minor league baseball team (richmond braves). Advertisement cost is about $105 a game or 8 games for $810. It will be broadcasted live on the radio as well. You guys think its worth it? Personally I dont think its worth it. Let me know thanks.

That type of advertising is tempting, but unless it's part of YOUR overall marketing plan, it only helps the guy selling it to you.

If you had studied the demographics and determined this is a market you want to reach and you are willing to invest thousands over the long haul, it may pay off. Repetition is the key, and with 8 games you are not likely to get any payoff, unless you just get lucky.

Just my opinion,
Bill

I would consider sponsoring a ladies' soccer team. Not necessarily strictly for the advertising value

Thats just because they use flat paddle "bats" inthe UK. "John The Voyeur"

Really though; Do they have the "American" version of baseball in the UK? I never thought about that before.

This would be a form of branding advertising. Your immediate return rate would be low. I agree with Bill Z, this would have to be a part of an overall campaign or it will be a complete shot in the dark.

I am sponsoring a local school baseball team this year. For $200 I get my name on their web-site and on the back on the kids shirts. Their moms will be forced to see my name every time they wash the shirts. Do I plan on getting a direct return from my $200 investment--no. Will I mention it to local homeowners with school age kids---you bet! The nice thing is I was able to pick the team and it is my office manager's son's team. Since she goes to the games, she can market for me.
