Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to ALL!
I'm new to the site so don't know if this is a goofy breech of protocol for a thread, but I hope everyone has a good day.
Lots to give thanks for, I'm sure, if we stop and take stock of everything.

Well hope you guys have a good thanks giving. I on the other hand will be replacing my hot water heater that has been leaking from the bottom long enough for the sheetrock around it to soak up the water about 3' up! My family has already left while I am here to fix it.
Oh well...... more time to be on CT!!!

Install a water heater pan this time and it'll save your drywall next time,and is code in many instances.

It doesn't hold the water,it is furnished with a drain outlet [1"]which is supposed to be run to a visible area or floor drain to make people aware of a problem at the heater,it is code in most of the country.This is only for installations that may cause structural damage as was mentioned.
