Had One Of Dem "sore" Days Lol

Started a deck-consisted of removing old and building new. Old deck was soo rotten the beams literally sank over top of the existing posts when my guy got up there to start cutting railings off Removing the sections we cut out was fun since the rim joist literally fell apart in your hands once the weight was on it so that made it interesting.

Best part, the material was dropped off approx 150yrds from where we're working due to lanscape layout and well, then the back yard itself has a very steep hill we must transverse up and down to bring in material and carry out the old. LOL, already hurting bad and it is'nt even the next day yet

But, hopefully be done tomorrow and the check will make it all worth while. but this was by far the worse rotted deck I've ever seen

I have one of those decks coming up in a month or so. Driveway is about 50 yards from deck, all up hill from there. I'll be getting the younger guys to do the hauling on this one.

LOL, the first 12' completely "water" soaked 4x6 post I picked up and all i was thinking about was the dumb azz fools I had last yr that were good for nothing else except this type of grunt work Tomorrow we just gotta cut the "joist tails" and install rim joist then it's all decking and railing so it will be a big back and forth day, but luckily the material should be quite a bit lighter than today....well on second thought that just means you can carry more material and have it all weigh the same as the individual heavy stuff also glad this baby does'nt have any steps with their screwed up grade (should just call it a balcony)

Been there. Little heard about tool but that is when my 4x4 fourwheeler comes on duty. It really does not tear up the yard at all..

Ryan I totally agree and have used ours in the past for grunting loads, but these folks have concrete that was just poured last fall all over the place and while I could've used a pwr buggy or somthing of that nature I did not want to be the one responsible for leaving black marks on the new -pretty- concrete. Sure we could lay sheets of ply down, but then we'd be running into more work than just grunting it.

Brand new fence all around property also with no gates other than the one that we're hoofing through, back side where deck is being built is a cliff on a very tall steep river bank and even at that the fence going around the property is right on the neighbors property line and a loooong ways around LOL!! Best option and only option wouldve been to have a crane drop it over the house or use a helo to lower it in

Hear you on the grunting, just putting the roof on a stick/timber hybrid sauna/deck building that I'll post some pics of soon. Can't get anywhere near this building with anyhting less than an excavator, and on it's last pass it was pushing a bow wave! We hauled nine yards of crete so far, all the lumber and of course the 20' 6x12's for the timber framing. Sure glad someone invented wheels. Rich.
