Gulf Coast

Anyone a subcontractor on the gulf coast? As mentioned in a previous thread, I am considering relocating my business to a location where there is more business since the midwest is pretty stagnant as of late. Anyone?

Re: Gulf Coast

I've been on craig's list looking around the country for where the work is steady, I have found that Texas and New Mexico and Arizona are the best places, This morning on the local news they said Michigan only lost 5000 people to move out of the State but back in July I checked out Atlas Vanlines Moving company and they said they had moved over 86,000 families out of Michigan since Jan 06, I know we have a masive amount of Foreclosed property in my area. and the fact that we have unemployment at 7.5% doesn't help much.

Re: Gulf Coast

Kinda interested in an answer on this question as well. I've been propositioned to do some work in the Desdin/Walton County area.

Gotta do some code research, fla has it's own set of books, two day test in Tallahassee......went through enough ICC testing for Inspection Certs, the contractors test shouldn't be too bad.

Come on Coastal Contractors.......any skinny we should know?

I Am A Drywall Finisher That Have Some Knowledge Of Construction. I Would Like To Get My Contractors License In Louisiana. Either Commercial Or Residential, But In A Few Years May Move To Arizona For Health Reasons Of Family Members. My Question; What Is Involved In Taking The Test, How Difficult Is Getting License & Would I Need To Retest When I Move?

Re: Gulf Coast

They're starting layoffs here (according to the paper) but I don't know who. Still lots of ads in the trades section.
