Re: Good Customer, Good DiscountQuote:
We are in different times now where work can be scarce, which is exactly why we should be considering increases instead of discounts. Most of us are holding the line price wise (myself included) which is the same as a discount already when you consider less work to cover the same OH. Good Luck Dave

Re: Good Customer, Good Discount
No discount unless you offered it to them for more work. Otherwise same pricing and then tackle some "while you are here" fixes for free... or extremely discounted.

Re: Good Customer, Good Discount
wow ... and some of you wonder why you hear the 'you're going to give me a good price' line from the HOs so often. It's HO speak for "please don't screw me over as badly as you do everyone else."

Re: Good Customer, Good DiscountQuote:
If you can't because your price is already so low, then just do a great job and know the HO is getting a great value for his money - which is, in essence, a price break. If you still want to show your appreciation for his business and can't afford a price break, then offer to help on some small nagging honey-do item. It will probably take you five minutes to fix something the guy has been putting off for five years. Could that open a Pandora's box of free work requests? Maybe. So just do that small favor as the LAST thing you do before you walk out the door. It may make him re-think all those other projects he's been putting off, and he'll call you to see how much you'd charge for some of those. |
