How often would you use a tool like this? What ways would you use it the most often?

Once or twice a week. Leveling up Posts, marking elevations.

I use a laser fairly often, with no defined calendar events. Definitely helps me improve on bush trimming. Otherwise they look like a really bad hair cut. Mostly I use a laser to level everything that needs to be level like pictures, tile, cabinets, etc.

Re: GIVEAWAY: Pacific Laser Systems PLS 180 Cross Line Laser

I would use something like this often and Ive even been thinking about buying a new one since mine is a cheap piece of junk and a pain to use.

The job Im doing now I would use it in a horse stable to give me a level line while running electrical conduit.

Other then that I would use it on anything from drop ceilings to using it as a reference line when doing foundation repair.

Re: GIVEAWAY: Pacific Laser Systems PLS 180 Cross Line Laser

Have one already with the red beam. Would love one with the easier to spot green.

Use it for most interior tasks. Determining floor and ceiling flatness. Cabinets install. Can light layout. Plumbing up pre hung doors, even something stupid like running all outlet or switch boxes in the same plane when the floor is real wonky.

Re: GIVEAWAY: Pacific Laser Systems PLS 180 Cross Line Laser

I would use as often as it made sense..multiple times per job

It would be used as a replacement for a chalk line or pencil mark for any point of reference needed.

Re: GIVEAWAY: Pacific Laser Systems PLS 180 Cross Line Laser

I'd use this once or twice a week. Mainly setting elevations for cabinets, but also the occasional furring out of a ceiling, setting shelves, setting window/door head heights, and figuring out how/where structures have settled.

How often is hard to say. But most definitely with cabinets, aligning door heights, transferring lines to adjoining walls.

Limits my chances of error with a level.

I use a Northwest vertical plane laser to check plumb on ICF walls...looks like this would do it as well.

I would use this tool no less than 3 times a week. I constantly install items with the need for leveling and level continuity.

This would make an excellent replacement for my cheap old Ryobi I bought awhile back. Comes in handy for so many projects!

Re: GIVEAWAY: Pacific Laser Systems PLS 180 Cross Line Laser

I would give it to my crew. I have one of the PLS lasers already and use it every few days for squaring up foundations, squaring up framing, measuring creating benchmark elevations for structural steel, and a whole lot of other simple uses for level and square lines. I like it a lot, but don't want to give my personal one to my crew to use when I'm not there because it is too valuable of a tool to me and I haven't purchased the crew their own yet.

I would use it instead of my cheap Stanley laser, for cabinets. I think at times it could replace my huge money TopCon! Pick me!

I use mine nearly every day. Shower doors, posts, siding , etc. My favorite tool.

Impossible to do custom shower doors without one.
