Get a website up, crack a million in sales, and hopefully be able to take more time off to spend with the kids.
Oh, and use my new hitachi nailer

Would be nice to keep the logging crew employed all the way through 2018.

Re: GIVEAWAY: Hitachi 18V Cordless Framing Nailer

This was a huge learning year for me...first full year on my own.

That said, 2018 Goal: Learn from my mistakes and keep my head above water. Upgrade a few insanely old pieces of equipment (nail guns being one of them!), and not get burned out from the stresses of 4 employees and pleasing customers!

Re: GIVEAWAY: Hitachi 18V Cordless Framing Nailer

My goal is to keep the volume high enough to support the needed overhead while slowing down the hustle. I can't seem to ever put the quality of working I like when I am pressing. Quality is what I find most gratifying. So the trick is finding a way to slow down to make more.

That's a challenge

Re: GIVEAWAY: Hitachi 18V Cordless Framing Nailer

For 2018 I'd like to go all cordless on all my guns. I want to build a full quiver of the Hitachi guns. I've looked hard at all the guns and the Hitachi look very good.

After 42 years in this business, take it down a notch and be SEMI-retired.

Re: GIVEAWAY: Hitachi 18V Cordless Framing Nailer

My goals for 2018 center around starting and finishing a single family Home built to the Passive House standard. I started my company a couple months ago, so I will be struggling through the steps to get a new business off the ground and running. Thankfully we have a full scale project in the works for 2018, so we should be plenty busy.

Re: GIVEAWAY: Hitachi 18V Cordless Framing Nailer

As the title suggests I'm going to try and take a larger chunk out of my deferred maintenance with the profits this year. Previous years I have been dumping it into growth and it's finally come time to start.

Re: GIVEAWAY: Hitachi 18V Cordless Framing Nailer

I am going to see if I can get enough time to finish up my engineering degree and reactivate my General Contractor license.

I don't plan on doing any real contracting but it is good to have for some light commercial design and construction document use.

Andy.

My goal for 2018 would be to get more efficient at completing estimates and organizing myself and my tasks at hand.

Re: GIVEAWAY: Hitachi 18V Cordless Framing Nailer

My business goal this year is to work with more subs, especially a roofing contractor, and do less of the physical work myself. I'd also like to move toward specializing -- framing, hopefully, instead of having a hand in virtually every stage of the building process, from excavation and flatwork to insulating and laying hardwood flooring. It's time to make some organizational changes. I hope.

Re: GIVEAWAY: Hitachi 18V Cordless Framing Nailer

Change tool set empasis. Replace some corded with cordless, get rid of the thermal imager, maybe get wall imaging and better NC moisture meter.

Lighter, faster set up, better diagnostics.

To be more gracefully blunt to tire kicker calls! So much wasted time!
