Question

Gabled Attic Vent & Door

Has anyone ever used a large attic vent on a gabled end that is also a door to get into the attic? I have a house that could really use one but never really seen one.

Re: Gabled Attic Vent & Door

I've custom built some vented doors on half gabled patio roofs before, it's been a while since I've done one so no pics. With the way houses are built down here storage is always needed since we generally don't have basements & no attic space either.

What I did was built a door out of 2x4's & insert a louvered vent made with cedar 1x4's, hinged it to the 1x4 trim like a gate.
