Funny Post On The DIY Forum

New construction
Sorry, I know this isn't really a DIY question but I need help finding a builder in the Circleville, Ohio area. I'm looking to get a new house built for a "reasonable" price. All of the builders that I have looked at haven't dropped their prices one cent even though gas and a lot of materials have dropped almost 50%. If you are a builder or know of a good one in the area drop me a line.

have you guys seen a 50% price reduction in materials?

He must mean gas and copper returning to "normal" prices after doubling in cost over the past year.

I wonder if he returned some of his pay to his employer since everything is cheaper.

THANK YOU!!!! Why don't people get it.
Does their pay fluctuate with the ecocnomy?? It may fluctuate if you are in sales or something, if you work on commission, but come on.

By coincidence, I was born and raised in Circleville, Ohio. I haven't lived there since 1971.
I guess I won't be moving back there anytime soon to help this moron.

Yeah sure, 50% drop in materials, see that all the time these days.

And, most contractors are hurting for work right now, so I suppose this jaboney would expect a 50% reduction in labor charges too, just for the priviledge of working in beautiful downtown Roundtown.

Steel roofing is down along with the copper and aluminum. I have a supplier that has it on sale this month painted for 189 LF. Not sure about nails and screws. Haven't really had to buy any. I've been using the left overs in the shop. Even had 3/4 of a big box of flooring staples and now I have 1,100 sq ft of flooring to lay.

No kidding. I just priced out an 18 square roof and I can put steel on for just a little over what a 40 architectural will run.

I'm with Modern...sales over.

Don't know what you are talking about, but that is a real post I saw on a DIY site.

I don't know why I went over there, a bunch of hacks over there, 1 guy wants to put stamped concrete over top of the tile in his house.
