Funny Permit Form
Thought I'd share this section of a local municipality's permit application form:
901 (B) ELECTRICAL EXEMPTION AFFIDAVIT Applicant __________________________________________________ _____________ Address __________________________________________________ ______________ Religious Sect __________________________________________________ _________ I, __________________________________________ do hereby affirm that I am a member of the _______________________________________ religious sect which has established tenets or teachings which conflict with the electrical provision of the Uniform Construction Code and that as a member of the _________________________________ sect I adhere to the established tenets or teachings. I further affirm that the residential structure on the above mentioned property will be used solely as a residence for myself and my household. I understand that in receiving an exemption for a dwelling unit under Section 901 (B) of the Act and subsequently sell or lease the dwelling unit, that I shall bring the dwelling unit into compliance with the provision of the Uniform Construction Code for which an exemption is granted. Signature of Applicant _____________________________ _____________________________ |

Is that for an Amish house with no electricity?

Re: Funny Permit Form
Must have something similar to allow no plumbing.
When you remove the HVAC, electricity, and plumbing from a house, you're talking a substantial amount of money. |

Re: Funny Permit Form
I worked on one Amish house, they did have indoor plumbing as well as radiant hydronic floor heat.
I think the well pump was run off a diesel generator. They are allowed to use electricity in that fashion, just not connected to the grid. Another interesting tidbit: since they don't have electric to run a vacuum cleaner they do the whole house in vinyl flooring. |
