Foreman Blues

O.k. I was hired by a contractor to be the forman for his remodel project. Yeah I know this is a contractors forum and I am one but I'm new to this area. A part of my duties is to schedule the subs. The subs are giving me the cold shoulder. For the last three weeks the contractor calls me first thing in the morning to tell me subs are showing up. Well, they don't. I'm getting hints from them when I do get a hold of them like "once bitten, twice shy". Trips to the lumber yard are skeptical at best as to weather he's paid his account lately. My paycheck has been good so far, but I'm getting a feeling he's not keeping his books straight.Like I said, I'm new to the area, and this crap just doesn't fly where I'm from. Any thoughts?

Mike

Re: Foreman Blues

Talk to him, let him know what the subs are saying about him, if it's false you can bet like hell he will be all over them for the comments, if it's true he'll let it slide and deal with it later...in that case start looking for a new job.

Re: Foreman Blues

I'm pretty damn sure he knows what his subs are saying about him. The problem is getting them there to finish thier jobs. I'm trying to get this house past the rough inspection phase so I can move on to finish.
