Fireproofing spray

Not sure why, but many of my thoughts are on fireproofing lately. (see other post)Watching the guys doing the firespray on the structural steel at the job. They have varying amounts of ppe when working in or around the stuff, even when cured or dried, or whatever.

Naturally, the rest of us are left to our own devices. I ended up running pipe under a sprayed and dried area, and I'm thinking that the testing guy had a respirator on. How bad is this stuff?
Or was he just a nut.

I had the same question with that stuff, super said it was not harmful I asked why is the guy doing it in a space suit then?
I took the bags to our safety guy and looked up the MSDS sheets, the brand on that job was fine for limited exposure but every day contact required PPE.
Even so, I told my guys to avoid it as much as possible.

Check for yourself as there are different brands I'm sure.
