Re: To Fire Or Not To Fire (Part 2)

Sounds like he is going to benefit more from being fired now then anything else.

He won't grow up unless he learns some of these life lessons where the world don't revolve around you....

I know all your life mommy told you that you were the best, no matter what anybody said, those damn teachers, your coach at school, the prinicpal... they don't know you like I do. Mommy says you are a special gifted child and will always be here to help you.

Well, guess what, unless mommy is going to work with you everyday, sooner or later you have to step into the real world where mommy won't be there to tell you everything will be all better.

I think this will be his first wake up call.

Mommy wasn't able to make it all better this time.

You did him a favor. Better to learn this lesson at 20, than 40! Hopefully he learns the lesson. I have to say, over the years I've been a good teacher!

Re: To Fire Or Not To Fire (Part 2)

Oh Geez the mom calling. I think work Ethic is something youre born with or without. My old man said he missed one day of work when he was 18. The owner said next time you are fired. 40 years later he has yet to miss one day except when he had his heart attack. That is where I learned. This kid seems to have a lot of growing up to do which is fine, hes still young and thats coming from someone who is young himself.

I hired my cousin once and had to fire him two weeks later for not showing up and putting on the time card that he deserves to get paid for his drive into and home from work. Then my aunt called me. Ive also fired an older man who thought he could do what he wanted because he used to own an unsuccessful business. His wife called me complaining.

These are just passive aggressive employees. The ones who want to push you off a ladder but youll never know until someone else calls you to tell you how much the disliked you from the very beginning. A time will come in his life when he HAS to grow up and show up to work no matter what. Mom will not always be there.
