How is your house coming?

The roof has been done in steel by a company I learned about from an exceptional (and retired) GC. I got more than my money's worth! Above and beyond... I paid $50. bonus to each of the workers as well as $1000 above the contract to the company. It was an exceptional job!

Insulation is now done from basement to attic, again a job well done!

As noted a new boiler installed and I'm warm & toasty.

Electric all new except the attic is still pending.

Pending: Plumbing make over, Windows, doors, floors & brick pointing.

So, I think it's coming along pretty well. It's only a matter of $$,

I'm really looking for a company that can renovate/rebuild the existing windows but no luck yet. (I hate new windows in old houses! They don't ever seem to look right plus it would lose all my stained and leaded glass)

Did I mention I hope to live long enough to finish this house?

For those of you who haven't seen her posts, Jennifer is a pro painter who spent the first 5 years painting the inside of closets before moving up.

If you know of a good window restoration guy in her area (Niagra?), shoot her a pm.
