Finally Got One

I finally got a lead to do a ramp. Our kids' doctor's office called today and told us they knew of a child who needs a ramp.

I can't wait to check it out.

The bad news, however, that we got from the same office yesterday is that our 10 year old daughter has scoliosis.

Anyway, she has to see an Orthopedic doctor so we can find out what is going to happen. I am hopeful that it won't be a big deal. All prayers appreciated.

I am happy about the ramp though. I guess Neolitic was right.

Congrats on the ramp

Major bummer about your kid, though. There are treatments & it appears that is was caught early, so yes my families thoughts & prayers are with you

Did your daughter ever break any bones? They would check us at school for scoliosis and the woman said she thinks I have it, I was 12 I think. I got plowed down by a car when I was 7 and my left leg was really messed up and I had to see the doctor about my leg for years. He said doesnt think theres a problem and my shorter leg just made it look like scoliosis. Even if your daughter has it from what I understand its not a big deal, I guess you just wear some sort of brace for a while, nothing that cant be fixed.

Good find on the ramp, although I hate to see people who need ramps, I hope I never need one.

Way to go on the ramp...

Best wishes for your daughter. Hope she skates through the treatment, whatever it turns out to be, and gets well quick!

Re: Finally Got One

Thanks guys for the words and prayers. It is appreciated.

Michaeljp86,

No, she has never broken a bone. She went in on Monday for a regular visit and the doc noticed one shoulder lower than the other. She was sent for x-rays on Monday and then Tuesday, they called to tell us the results. We already scheduled the Orthopedic appointment.

The orthopedic doctors had to fix me up a few times from some serious accidents. Im doing pretty good now, fixing your daughter should be cake for them.

Does she wear he schoolbag with only one strap carrying textbooks in there? I've heard of a lot of people warning about that causing problems...

I never thought about that, I used to have 60lbs of books to drag home. 60lbs is alot to drag around when you weigh 100lbs.

Yea, I had to have surgery done by a good one in Pittsburgh 2 summers ago. 30+ stitches in my hand, 6 weeks of physical therapy 2x a week, and I can use it again just perfectly.
