Fiberglass Vs Vinyl Replacmemnt Window

i notice pella and marvin replacmemnt window are fiberglass opposed to vinyl.
i love theor wood windows but when i do vinyl replacement, how can i compete with a fiberglass since it is 9x more durable than vinyl? in other words, precluding price, why would a consumer choose a good vinyl window
company like gorell or shcuco instead of marvin or pella?

Fiberglass windows only exist because they are different than vinyl windows. The window market is flooded with vinyl, it is the norm......think about it, how can a window company compete nationally with 600+ other vendors? How can your company compete locally with 100-200-300 other dealers?

I guess one way to look at it is would you rather go up a vinyl ladder or a fiberglass ladder? I think fiberglass is way better but then again vinyl windows hold up really well, Ive seen very few fail.

Re: Fiberglass Vs Vinyl Replacmemnt Window

Thirty years ago I was putting in 100 windows a week with a crew, wanted to do more and so we went to the plant and asked the top sales 'guy' and he said " There are two ways to sell windows, SELL MORE < volume> or SELL DIFFERENT < Fibreglas vs Vinyl> " They also offered a triple pane...Heavy!

We decided the third option was best... super service....

There were guys putting replacements in for $15.00 labor . and never handled service calls !

Fibreglas are very strong...

Never sold a single Triple pane....
