FEMA Today

I was contacted by a company called Fema Today. He said he was a sub contractor for Fema getting new contractors signed up to work with Fema. After doing a search on Fema Today and couldn't find anything about them I e-mailed Fema and asked. Im copying the e-mail over. I hope this helps someone.

FEMA has it’s own office that handles this information, it is a scam.

The real FEMA is a governemnt organization that really does not have a big budget or very many employees as most people assume. It subcontracts to a lot of questionable firms because they are ready and prepared to start immediately because the good firms are not set up for quick response, so the they have to go with those that can be ready (supposedly) immediately.

I worked (not for FEMA) after Katrina in disaster recovery (long term) and not in disaster relief (short term). They way it is structured, FEMA can never do enough legally very fast and always will be the whipping boy. At least Cheny (without a gun) was around frequently to cut some of the red tape and make things get started.

Fema Today comes out to your office and does all the paper work for you. They don't setup work for you. All they said they do is the new contractor package for you. Fema say it has an office that does all of this and doesn't sub it out.

I got a ton of work after the Northridge earthquake in '94.
FEMA came in and paid all of my estimates to the Home Owners, who called me back to do the work. All paid promtly, except one b***h who used the money on golf clubs, lessons, green fees etc.

FEMA Today apparently is not a part of FEMA, but conveniently uses the name FEMA in their name with a familiar logo.

It is a private publishing company that sells advertising and sells/distributes directories for the 50 states plus other directories (55 total). The books may be used by some agencies when awarding contracts.

I think their site is fematoday.com. The official FEMA site is fema.gov.
