Estate Cleaning

I am in NJ and would like to knowif there is others in NJ or PA that do estate cleaning. I would like to know what you all do with all ofthe items you find in the house. I am thinking of selling them on EBAy andwondering of others have or would want to as well with me.

Re: Estate Cleaning

I do not do estate cleaning but if you decide to junk any items you have while cleaning you need to have a Solid waste License from NJDEP. The waste you are generating is not yours so you will need an A-901 License.

Re: Estate Cleaning

Back in HS one of my buddies dad was a realtor and we hauled out the junk for a few bucks an hour. Every once in a while we'd hit the motherlode and make a lot more at the flea market than we made on the job. If you have some good stuff, go for it.

Re: Estate Cleaning

I thought that was one of the main reasons people did that work. Sift through the junk and find the buried treasure. Maybe one day we will see you on "Antiques Roadshow" with the $100,000 painting somebody was throwing out.

Could happen. Once while attending an estate sale toward the end I was thought to have bid on a small collection of stuff, box deal with some bedspreads, a picture and such. I didn't bid but decided I would accept the offer to bid $10. Got it. Had several chenille (sp) spreads, Old army blanket that had been wrapped in plastic for who knows how long. But the prize may have been an old signed lithograph by the dutch painter Anton Mauve. Around th edges it was printed 'Propert of the Chicago Metropolitan Museum'. It was very brittle. Anyway, on ARS they had the opposite of this painting (old dutchman with his herd of sheep. On mine he was taking them out, on theirs, he was bring them in and theirs was original, values at $8ooo. Before I got a chance to have mine checked, wife was moving some things and destroyed it . still curious how this old man came by this and some more art he had. He was a lifelong bacholar (sp), I am told. Have to wonder if he had a more intersting background than ppl knew about.
Hope this is not hijacking the thread

Re: Estate Cleaning

A-901 is a lisenced solid waste transporter. You have to contact NJDEP oe go online for the App. I took me over a year to get my lisence and a couple thousand dollars.
