And you probably started with realistic numbers.

Generally, on these "I am gonna do most of the work myself" remodels, you end up spending 2 or 3 times as much as you started out thinking you would.

This is true. That is also part of the reason our planning must be near perfect.

I'd put that in the $90-120K range, including labor if I was bidding it.

Time or money? I've seen a lot of people who decide it's cheaper to do it themselves, then upscale everything and spend way more in time and money...

Re: A&E's House

One bit of info that helps me. I can do the project before I move in. I have a 6 month minimum before I have to be out of where I am at.

You're a better man than I... I would have handed her a brush and can of paint, and said, have at it...

Re: A&E's House

The trouble with remodeling any house is when the new stuff goes in, the old stuff around it doesn't work all of a sudden. I resided my house it made the gutters look like chit. I put in new kitchen cabinets....the floor looks like chit...I put in new doors..now the trim ain't cuttin it...where does it end?

You'll put the addition on and decide the rest of the house needs a total re-do

Just don't marry a woman who thinks she's an interior designer, unless you like spending lots of money, and changing things around constantly. LOL
