Easy To Register ... Maybe Too Easy

I am relativley new on here. Then today another newbie shows up.
3 pages of comedy, insults to electricians, masqurading as a plumber.
Was he legit? I doubt it ... but then again they are out there.

Now in my opinon this forum is great. I have, though I never saw them. met some very nice informative tradesmen and ladies on here. But I would change the resistration form around a bit. First the user name should be the last item filled in. Prior to that the persons real name, gender, business name, city and state, (or place in the world), affiliation with the business and the trade if any should be filled in. Also in a licensed trade, what license is carried should be listed. Finally a valid e-mail address and lastly a user name.

The public profile should show most of these items.

Comments ???

Something...anything...would help, as there seems to be a LOT more of the "one and done" posters.

Re: Easy To Register ... Maybe Too Easy

I agree it would be nice to weed out the A$$holes before hand but I think it's Nathan's job to get as many members as possible. Easy registration = more members = Mo Money. I'm not saying this is great for the rest of us but we have to remember this is someone's business.

Then we should be able to login into plumbingtalk and join the conversations without so much bile being spewed from the "members" there

I only chat with plumbers when I feel like being told "That's not part of my contract and it will be an extra"
