Don't Forget Your Jacket.

This is that in-between season where you need a jacket or sweatshirt in the morning and not in the afternoon. Because of that, they seem to pile up on the jobsite, get left at customer's homes, and left in the truck. Just a message from your friendly neighborhood sparky... "Don't forget to take your jacket home at the end of the day."

I wrote it just as much to remind myself. After you leave a certain number of jackets lay here and there, then you have none to put on in the morning for the ride to work. It seems each year I have a few at the shop, a few in the work truck, and a few that I left someplace but I'm not exactly sure where.

Usually in the spring when I clean out my truck I'm good to come out with at least 6 or 8 knit hats, sweat shirts I'll take them in the house when I accumilate 3 or 4 on the seat.

The worst is when your help leaves an old shirt behind your seat for a year, not thinkng a thing about it, but decides they must wear it the day after you turn it into an oil rag.

I hate when customers call and say that we left a polar fleece behind, cost $10, the gas and time to go back and get it $60. "Please throw it out"!

Re: Don't Forget Your Jacket.

I'm down 4 jackets, 2 sweathirts, I think 1 coat... and I'm blaming it ALL on my help! LOL

Hey, how many times do they show up for work, wake up, and realize it's too cold for them to work? ~sigh~ here, take mine. My stress level keeps me warm & sweating.

Re: Don't Forget Your Jacket.

I hit the thrift shops each year to stock up on sweat shirts. If I loose them (which I always do) Oh well. Same thing goes for my underwear.

I wish it was like that here.... It snowed last night... and I think I will be wearing my carhartt for awhile.

You can say that again! I mowed my lawn last weekend in shorts, and this weekend they are calling for snow!

It's funny how that line seems to be used everywhere. It was common when I lived in Mass and I moved to Texas and heard the same line?
I suppose Texas could use it in the winter but summer High 95 low 73 for as long as the eye can see

Re: Don't Forget Your Jacket.

When I still worked as a plumber, we rented uniforms for the folks in the field.

During the cold months some of the guys would come in and say, "Have you seen my jacket?"

Once a week at least we'd get a call from a client saying that one of our folks had left a jacket at their home, or on their fence. We even had one returned by the uniform when one of our guys left it at their plant on a service call.
