ContractorTalk.com Down Time - "Account Suspended"

Hello Everyone.

I want to apologize for the down time we had last night and this morning. We had a security issue on our server and that caused our host to suspend our account until we can figure out what the issue is. Unfortunately I was asleep at the time and didn't get notified until this morning (Thanks for the phone call Joasis!)

We are still working on this issue so there is a possibility of more down time but if we do go down again it should just be for a reboot or to upgrade some software.

Once again I'm sorry for the down time and we will try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Nathan

We do receive a refund for the down time, right?

Re: ContractorTalk.com Down Time - "Account Suspended"

I got a few emails this morning from people thinking they were banned because my account got suspended. I'm going to send out an email to everyone to make sure people understand that the problem was on my end and not on theirs.

And here I thought someone actually was reading my posts and decided to take action.

You do understand you have to keep gasoline in the generator in order to keep things in productions don't you?...I'll bet you were searching in the sofa and the chair find enough coinage to buy a few gallons.

Re: ContractorTalk.com Down Time - "Account Suspended"

For the record, besides spammers who join our site just to post ads, we hardly ever ban anyone. It is very rare. If we do it's only after numerous warnings and discussions with the person.

If for some reason you can't reach the site it's most likely a problem with the server or site and not with you.

Thanks.

I figured that you forgot to pay your hosting bill for the new servers. Anytime I see that message on a site I just assume.

Nathan
if you will post your phone number on the open forum, Nathan, I will guarantee you will get a faster notification and most likely in much greater numbers.

We like the forums and I am sure most here would be more than willing to provide you personal notification the second there is a problem.

OK, i think I see what happened! Ed was re doing a roof. He needed some advice on how to do it, so he logs onto CT.com and starts rambling on so bad that it overloaded the server

Or did he install a new roof at the building where the server is located and a storm came through!

No, it was all of the wadded up
ice and water backing crap,
gummed up the servers.
