Re: Contractor Talk & Time Management
Standing up: My name is Rory and I am a CT Addict
It started innocently like most guys a few hours here and there to past the time. Then work started to slow a bit and it was 1 or 2 a day. The reports of a recession started to hit the news and work cooled down a bit and I was up to 3-4 hours a day. Now that we are in the middle of a full blown economic meltdown I am up to 8-10 hours a day of non stop streaming this sucker. I was at my deepest and darkest point a few weeks back. When, when, How do I put this. I took my laptop into the bathroom to keep reading while I took a shiittt.

Re: Contractor Talk & Time Management
I never did get the whole bros before hos thing.
I'd rather get laid. My true friends will understand ![]() ![]() Hmm, to address the questions seriously now ... just like Heritage said - there's not too many places to discuss business. Actually, in real life - there are very few people I talk about this kind of stuff with. I do talk with certain family members who either are or once were contractors --- but I don't get to do that often enough I guess. I'll honestly say, I've always been good at not hopping on while I'm supposed to be working. I'll slip here and there, but for the most part I don't let this intrude on work. Now, there were times, especially when i first became a member - that I would just sit down after dinner ... and the next thing I knew it was midnight. There's other things I'd like to do in life besides work (or talk about work) ... and that is what I saw a problem with. Wasn't so much work that this intruded on - it was just other personal hobbies or pursuits. That said, on the other hand, I believe that I've gained a lot of insight and second-hand knowledge from many of you. For that, I don't consider it a waste of time. During the week, I tend to be reclusive and I don't see a lot of people outside of work --- so even if it's just to come in and BS, it's a nice distraction.

Re: Contractor Talk & Time Management
It has been months since I pooped in a bucket .............. last few new construction jobs I was on had port-a-jons, although sometimes I would prefer the bucket.

Re: Contractor Talk & Time Management
I'm new but already hooked! I read CT on my iphone if I'm away from my computer...but the other day I might have made a big mistake...the old lady asked what I was looking at and I let her read some posts!...I think she rather I look at ****!
She says "you eat sleep and think about construction all day long...how can you bother with that site!" ...To which I have NO reply...I GUESS I AM...A SICK PERSON!
