A Contractor Is?

Years ago I read something about contractors, it went something like this.

A contractor is many things
He is at times a politician
He is a lawyer
He is psychologist ect.
Anyone remember that, it went on for a while, and after you read it you realized the trust and responsibility you are carrying.

You could probably insert any profession into that and anyone in that profession would agree that it fits their line of work.

A Contractor is:

Someone that gets threatened and sued alot.
A guy that gets up a 4 am so he can get off early that night at 9 pm for his birthday party.
The guy that fixes his employees piss poor work.
Someone that has to dig up freshly poured concrete because of one little stress crack at his cost.
The guy that knows ten times more about building than any architect with a 300,000 education.
A guy that will dig out the neighborhood after record snowfall for free.
Someone that nobody appreciates.

I'll find that item, it was pretty good and positive. But your right, it could apply to other professions. I read it when I was much younger, copied it and now 3 homes and 2 kids later its in a pile somewhere.

A contractor is:
A person with a high pain tolerance, a touch of masochism, someone who takes a concept and in spite of the architect, the building inspector and the homeowner gets it built.
