Concrete Cutting - Dust Containment
I'll be cutting a slab floor for plumbing and was wondering the best way to contain the concrete dust. Can't use a gas saw with the water drip cause it's indoors. Guess I could jackhammer it but I want to have a clean line and minimize possible damage to the rest of the slab. I could get a helper to pump water on the blade the whole time and use a GFI cord.
Any other ideas? I haven't done much concrete cutting but when I have the freaking dust gets everywhere even when I tack poly up around the whore work area. And I think I've seen some ads for what basically winds up being a plastic room you can set up around the area; anyone know how well those work? Thanks.

Re: Concrete Cutting - Dust Containment
A zip wall would work nice...
However as far as your jackhammer idea..if you snap your lines, saw cut and THAN demo with the jackhammer, you will still get the clean line, and you will get bigger chunks. I used to do ALOT of concrete when I worked for my father, and when we were tearing out, we would do what I said above..with a helper or two on thier knees just pickin up the demoed concrete and putting it in buckets(if it was small enough). Big jobs we used a bobcat. But for what you are doing, I think a zip wall would be the most cost effective way to contain dust, than strike a line, saw cut, demo with the hammer, have your helper put the concrete in a bucket, than sweep and vac the area when your done.
