Competitor Copyright Problem?

There was a 10,000 sq ft house with concrete tops, and the guy who did them was there with pamphlets and some samples set up on a table.

I was looking at the pamphlet, and all ( believe all ) of the pictures in the 3 page fold out were pics taken off of the internet that were done by other companies. I recognized them right away from my countless hours browsing forums and sites looking at the competition and just getting design ideas.

There is no acknowledgment to any of the designers or companies of said pictures. Nor does he directly take credit for the pictures of work being shown.

Some of them were taken off of this sites galleries.

Im sure you've all been there. And I know I have seen the other pics around on the internet.

So my question is, do I call him out on it, or let it go? I dont want to be an a-hole, but business is business, and copyright infringement is just that as well.

Contact the Concrete Network with the name of the company and send them the pamphlet.

I agree

I suppose it's possible the guy has some arrangement with them
I doubt it
But let the Concrete Network know what's happening

DO NOT tell the customer. I found out 25 years ago that saying anything bad about a competitor, whether true or not, makes you look as bad or worse in the eyes of the customer.

Re: Competitor Copyright Problem?

I didnt plan on telling any customers or GC's. Just the people who were copyrighted without consent, if that were the case. They can decide to take the appropriate actions.

I was just asking to see if it something you guys would report if you were in my shoes.

Being a new company and wanting to make a name for myself. I sure as hell wouldnt take pictures of nice masonry jobs and put them in my Kamps Masonry brochure, implying that I did that work.
